1. About these terms

Ask The Movie is a trading name of Sales Leak Labs LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 15758378. By creating an account, purchasing a plan or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. Questions can be sent to support@askthemovie.com.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 to use Ask The Movie. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or guardian has permitted your use. You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Free and paid plans

Ask The Movie may offer Free, Pro and Premium+ plans with different allowances and features. The current features, limits and prices shown at checkout or in Account Settings form part of the offer available to you at that time.

We may improve, replace or retire features over time. If a material change affects a paid subscription, we will provide reasonable notice where required by law.

4. Subscriptions, renewals and cancellation

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically at the selected monthly or annual interval until cancelled.

You can manage or cancel a paid subscription from Account Settings. When you cancel, your paid features normally remain available until the end of the period you have already paid for. Your account then returns to the applicable Free plan unless you reactivate or purchase another plan.

The renewal or access-end date shown in your account is based on the subscription information supplied by Stripe.

5. Extra generations and payments

Extra generation packs are one-off purchases and are added to the account that completed the purchase. They are not a subscription and do not renew automatically. Generation credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred between accounts.

Prices shown at checkout include the amount you will be charged. Any taxes or payment requirements that apply will be shown or handled as required by the payment provider.

6. Refunds and consumer rights

If you believe a payment was made in error or a paid service was not provided as expected, contact support@askthemovie.com. Refund requests are considered in accordance with applicable UK consumer law and the circumstances of the purchase.

Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

7. Recommendations, AI answers and spoilers

Ask The Movie uses automated systems and third-party data to produce recommendations, facts and movie Q&A. Results are for entertainment and discovery and may be incomplete, inaccurate, out of date or a weaker match than a displayed score suggests.

We try to respect spoiler settings, but cannot guarantee that every recommendation, synopsis or AI answer will be spoiler-free.

8. Where-to-watch information

Ask The Movie is a discovery service, not a streaming provider, retailer or ticket seller. Availability, subscription inclusion, rental prices and purchase terms are controlled by third parties and can change at any time. A provider link is not a guarantee that a title is currently available in your location.

9. Ask Together

Ask Together lets signed-in users combine viewing preferences in a shared room. The host controls the room link and should share it only with people they intend to invite. Do not use the feature to harass, impersonate or collect personal information from others.

10. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to bypass plan or usage limits, probe or disrupt security, automate excessive requests, scrape the service, reverse engineer protected systems, submit unlawful or harmful material, impersonate another person or use the service in a way that infringes another person's rights.

11. Content and intellectual property

Sales Leak Labs LTD and its licensors own the Ask The Movie product, design, software and branding. Movie titles, images, metadata and provider marks belong to their respective owners. Movie metadata and artwork may be supplied by TMDB; Ask The Movie is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

You retain rights in text you submit. You give us permission to process it as needed to operate, secure and improve the service.

12. Suspension, termination and service availability

We may restrict or end access where you breach these terms, create a security or abuse risk, fail to pay an amount due or where we discontinue the service. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability.

13. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for failures caused by independent third-party services or for business losses arising from consumer use. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

14. Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms as Ask The Movie develops. Material changes will be notified where reasonably appropriate. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
